Day trips from Split: Šibenik
Šibenik is one of the most colorful cities in Central Dalmatia. Founded in 1066, it has some very famous monuments of history and culture. These are the Cathedral of St. James (which is 31 meters high!), the fortress of St. Anne, and the “Rector’s Palace”. The narrow winding streets of the Old Town, ancient buildings, as well as pavements made of stone polished over the centuries have turned this amazing city into a real open-air museum.

Šolta Island
Šolta Island is one of the most picturesque places in Croatia. It is located just 16 km from Split, next to the islands of Brac and Hvar. Its main wealth is untouched nature, picturesque coves, a sea rich in fish, which makes holidays on Šolta attractive for those who want to take a break from the bustle of the city. There are several small villages on the island, the most popular of which are Rogač, Nechujam and Stomorska on the northeast coast and Maslinica on the west coast.

Day trips from Split: Salona
Salona was the ancient capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. This is the birthplace of the Roman emperor Diocletian, who was born in the 3rd century. After voluntarily abdicating the throne, he returned to his native city, where a palace was built for him. Salona was badly damaged during the invasion of the Avars and Slavs in 614. The population of the ancient city gradually flocked closer to the palace, forming the new city of Split.

Golden Horn (Zlatni Rat)
The Golden Horn, also known as the Zlatni Rat, is one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia. This large beach with golden sand is like a horn stretching into the sea at 634 meters. Depending on the direction of the wind, the tip of the beach changes its shape and position. Surrounded by a pine forest and perfect clear sea, the beach is truly one of the best in the world!

Day trips from Split: Omiš
This ancient resort town is located on the Adriatic coast. In addition to beautiful scenery, it is worth coming here to look at the fabulous pirate fortresses (which, incidentally, used to be cities) and take a swim in the clear sea. Tourists who have visited Omiš, say that this city surprisingly combines past and present.

Hvar (town)
Hvar is a popular tourist resort. This is probably the most pathetic place among all Croatian islands. Historic city center is located around a small bay. In the summer season, the main square of the city, its promenades, numerous restaurants, bars and similar establishments are always crowded.

Day trips from Split: Krka National Park
Krka National Park has seven beautiful cascades of waterfalls, two ancient monasteries, amazingly picturesque landscapes and a feeling of unity with nature that cannot be expressed in words. Located in Northern Dalmatia, not far from Šibenik, Krka is considered the best place for an educational excursion, which will end with a refreshing swim in the clear waters of the river of the same name with the park.

Day trips from Split: Plitvice Lakes
Plitvice Lakes is the most famous National Park in Croatia and one of the ten natural sites in Croatia on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The park is located in the valley of the Korana River, in the basin of the Dinaric Highlands. The main task of the reserve is to keep the fauna, unique landscape and vegetation. Every year more than 1.2 million people visit this unique place.

Trogir
Trogir is a town in southern Croatia in the Split-Dalmatia County. Located on the coast of the Gulf of Kastela in the Central Adriatic between the cities of Split and Šibenik. Trogir is a small ancient town, and its medieval historical center is one of the best preserved in Europe and is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The old town of Trogir, rich in cultural and historical monuments, authentic architecture and a labyrinth of charming streets, is located on a small island and is called “Little Venice”. This is a great place for a day trip from Split, which is not like other cities in Southern Croatia.
